The key idea of ​​the project is a synthesis of the original culture of Yakutia and a unique natural environment. Nature is the most important and main sacred symbol of Sakha. That is why hills-hills appeared on the square, on which it is proposed to plant plants from all over Yakutia. The arboretum in the city center will allow residents and guests of the city to learn more about the nature of the Republic, and using the interactive system of QR codes to read more about a particular plant.
In the center of the square is a spiral of the eternal Yakut calendar in the form of a dry fountain. The image of the calendar symbolizes an inextricable connection with the traditions and culture of the people of Sakha, over time and the dynamic development of Yakutia. In summer, the fountain will be the central point of the city, where adults and children can feel the coolness of the water and spend time actively, and in winter it turns into an exciting light installation.
Along the perimeter of the square there are public areas with catering, souvenir shops, information centers, exhibition venues, etc.
An important element of the design are finishing materials. Area coverage is made of concrete tiles with a granite top layer. The pavilions-hills are constructed of wood and covered with a layer of vegetable soil-substrate, which has artificial heating and a microclimate system. The amphitheater seats are electrically heated for a long cold season.
Visitors to the square are office workers of the surrounding institutions, and pensioners, and youth, and families with children, so we tried to satisfy everyone’s requests. The renewed area will become the main event space not only for the city, but also for the whole Republic.
