The main objective of the project was the conversion of the area in the center of public life of the square.
With this purpose all existing pedestrian transits were analyzed and identified areas of their possible development. Then the pedestrian area around and inside the building were formed, that are crossing in the Central atrium, lead the visitors through all levels to the roofing. The shape of the building itself, dictated by the dimensions of the area, directs a pedestrian flows, calm down and round up in the right places. Smooth volumes reecho with arched openings metro, rounded contours of the Belarussky station and a 6-floor building on the other side of Gruzinsky Val street.
An important task was the most tactful neighborhood with the metro station pavilion, in the result of which was formed passage at the border of old and new volume. The new building provides a kind of “frame” for the pavilion, shade itself against the background of historical architecture by lightness of their volume.
In the side pavilion wall we implementing an arched doorway, initially projected and moves people in new pedestrian space.
There are two variants of the facades – continuous glazing (with a combination of transparent and opaque glass) for maximum readability and more material appearance with pylons from light stone, beveled in different directions and reecho with the Belarussky station architectural decor.
