«Winged» airport - a new symbol of the Perm region
Objective
Development of the passenger terminal project, which could become a symbol of the Perm region, using the most effective planning and technical solutions.
Solution
On the basis of the basic planning scheme, an original figurative and constructive solution of the terminal complex was developed, combining functionality, comfort, safety and image component.

Functional diagram
When developing the project, the passenger terminal of the airport in Perm, the architectural Bureau Asadova and the General designer of the project, spectrum company took the functional planning and logistics scheme of the passenger terminal of the specialized company WP ARC (Germany) as a basis. This scheme was tested by designers during the construction of the Saratov airport and confirmed its effectiveness. All functional areas are optimally placed inside the perimeter with a side of 140 meters, providing convenient and safe communication within the complex. On the side of the airfield to the terminal attached gallery with an extension and several perpendicular blocks, which are joined by landing ladders.
In addition to the project of the terminal itself, a master plan of the adjacent territory was developed, including the improvement of the area in front of the main entrance to the airport, as well as the location of the hotel and multi-storey Parking, the construction of which is planned for the next stages of the project.

Designs and technologies
The design solution is based on a universal frame system of monolithic reinforced concrete with a basic pitch of 9×9 meters. In areas that require more space is used double step, and in special cases, in areas that require increased presentability, such as: General hall and hall in the departure area, apply long-span structures that are part of a complex roof structure.
The coating above the terminal is an original spatial structure, lined with gold-colored metal panels on the outside. Its three-dimensional composition is based on the image of the wooden sculpture of cherubim, stored in the local art Museum, based on which was developed a high-tech solution implemented by “Alfa-Stroy” from Yekaterinburg.
The design hangs over the stained-glass perimeter of the main volume of the terminal. Departure of structures beyond the perimeter is up to 10 meters at the corners of the building.

Shell and facade system.
The surface of the coating on the side of the main facade is curved in a smooth arc like a sail or an airplane wing, and above the sides it is made smooth, as if cut off by a huge blade. The curved part of the coating is made of U-shaped profile, which is secretly attached to the metal sheet. The result is a texture that resembles the structure of a tree. Smooth parts of the coating were made of polished metal sheets.
The stained glass facades of the terminal are decorated with decorative images reminiscent of stylized images of fossils and fossils belonging to the so-called “Perm period”. On the side facades, in areas of technical and office space stained glass Windows partially closes the system of horizontal impostes.
For natural lighting of the terminal, the coating design includes curved-shaped light lanterns, which continue the main “winged” theme.

Interior design.
The interior of the complex was developed by UNK project Bureau, selected on the basis of the competition. Their proposed design code is based on the use of restrained colors of white, gray and ochre shades, floral prints and polished metal in the style of high-tech.

Safety and comfort.
All architectural and interior solutions of the terminal meet the increased requirements for safety and durability. Particular attention was paid to the convenience of operation and comfort of passengers.
